Global Climate Risk Index is published by Germanwatch, a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Bonn, Germany. The Global Climate Risk Index 2018 has put India amongst the six most vulnerable countries in the world. Given that a sizeable population under poverty live in areas prone to climatic shifts and in occupations that are highly climate-sensitive, future climate change could have significant implications for living standards.
