सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता – महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य

1. दक्षिण एशिया के पहले शहर 2600 ईसा पूर्व के आसपास स्थापित किए गए थे। जो अब पाकिस्तान और पश्चिमी भारत में है। 

 

2. जिन लोगों ने इन शहरों का निर्माण और शासन किया, वे हड़प्पा संस्कृति या सिंधु सभ्यता से संबंधित हैं, एक ऐसी सभ्यता जो लगभग उसी समय विकसित हुई जब मिस्र और मेसोपोटामिया के प्रारंभिक शहर राज्य थे। 

 

3. यह शहरी सभ्यता बलूचिस्तान और अफगानिस्तान के ऊंचे पहाड़ों से लेकर मकरान, सिंध और गुजरात के तटीय क्षेत्रों तक एक विशाल भौगोलिक क्षेत्र में फैली हुई है। 

 

4. हड़प्पा और मोहनजोदड़ो जैसे बड़े शहर और छोटे शहर प्रमुख व्यापार मार्गों के साथ प्रशासनिक और अनुष्ठान केंद्रों के रूप में विकसित हुए। 

 

5. इस सभ्यता के पूर्ण शहरी चरण के दौरान, अरब की खाड़ी, पश्चिम और मध्य एशिया और प्रायद्वीपीय भारत में आसपास की संस्कृतियों के साथ व्यापार संपर्कों के प्रमाण मिले हैं। 

 

6. सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता की खोज सबसे पहले 1800 के दशक में अंग्रेजों द्वारा दर्ज की गई थी। पहला रिकॉर्ड किया गया नोट एक ब्रिटिश सेना के भगोड़े, जेम्स लुईस का था, जो 1826 में एक अमेरिकी इंजीनियर के रूप में प्रस्तुत कर रहा था.

Indus Valley Civilization – Important Facts

1. South Asia’s first cities were established around 2600 B.C. in what is now Pakistan and western India. 

 

2. The peoples who built and ruled these cities belong to the Harappan Culture or Indus Civilization, a civilization that developed at approximately the same time as the early city states of Egypt and Mesopotamia.  

 

3. This urban civilisation spread over a vast geographical region, from the high mountains of Baluchistan and Afghanistan to the coastal regions of Makran, Sindh and Gujarat. 

 

4. Large cities like Harappa and Mohenjodaro and smaller towns grew up along the major trade routes as administrative and ritual centers. 

 

5. During the full urban phase of this civilization, evidences of trade contacts have been found with the surrounding cultures in the Arabian Gulf, West and Central Asia and peninsular India. 

 

6. The discovery of the Indus Valley Civilization was first recorded in the 1800’s by the British. The first recorded note was by a British army deserter, James Lewis, who was posing as an American engineer in 1826.
