राष्ट्रपति का निर्वाचन –

राष्ट्रपति का निर्वाचन जनता प्रत्यक्ष रुप से नहीं करती बल्कि एक निर्वाचन मंडल के सदस्यों द्वारा उसका निर्वाचन किया जाता है। इसमें निम्न लोग शामिल होते हैं –

1.संसद के दोनों सदनों के निर्वाचित सदस्य

2.राज्य विधानसभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य

3.केन्द्रशासित प्रदेशों दिल्ली व पुडुचेरी विधानसभाओं के निर्वाचित सदस्य

राष्ट्रपति के पद हेतु अर्हताएं – 

✍ राष्ट्रपति पद के चुनाव के लिए व्यक्ति की निम्न अर्हताओं को पूर्ण करना आवश्यक है –

1.वह भारत का नागरिक हो।

2.वह 35 वर्ष की आयु पूर्ण कर चुका हो।

3.वह लोकसभा का सदस्य निर्वाचित होने के लिए अर्हित है।

4.वह संघ सरकार में अथवा किसी राज्य सरकार में अथवा किसी स्थानीय प्राधिकरण में अथवा किसी सार्वजनिक प्राधिकरण में लाभ के पद पर न हो।संघ के वर्तमान अध्यक्ष या उपाध्यक्ष, किसी भी राज्य के राज्यपाल और संघ या किसी राज्य के मंत्री को लाभ का कोई पद धारण करने वाला नहीं समझा जाता है और इसलिए राष्ट्रपति पद के उम्मीदवार के रूप में योग्य माना जाता है।

ELECTION OF THE PRESIDENT

✍ The President is elected not directly by the people but by members of electoral college consisting of: 

1.The elected members of both the Houses of Parliament; 

2.The elected members of the legislative assemblies of the states; and 

3.The elected members of the legislative assemblies of the Union Territories of Delhi and Puducherry.

Qualifications for Election as President

✍ A person to be eligible for election as President should fulfil the following qualifications: 

1.He should be a citizen of India. 

2.He should have completed 35 years of age. 

3.He should be qualified for election as a member of the Lok Sabha. best study channel-study for civil services

4.He should not hold any office of profit under the Union government or any state government or any local authority or any other public authority. A sitting President or VicePresident of the Union, the Governor of any state and a minister of the Union or any state is not deemed to hold any office of profit and hence qualified as a presidential candidate.
