"The Kigali Amendment":

@ The Kigali Amendment is an amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

@ It was adopted by the 28th Meeting of Parties to the Montreal Protocol (MOP28) in Kigali, Rwanda.

@ The Amendment adds greenhouse gases hydro fluorocarbons (HFCs) to the list of substances controlled under the Protocol and which are to be phased down.

@ The Montreal Protocol makes important contributions to the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals- including, among others: No. 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, No. 12 – Responsible Production and Consumption, and No. 13 – Climate Action.
