RBI announced setting up of Acceptance Development Fund to improve the last- mile payments network in rural India to transact digitally.
It will be operationalized as a banksponsored development fund solely to improve payment infrastructure in Indian small towns and villages especially in Tier III to Tier VI centers, where most daily transactions are in cash.
