The World Customs Organization (WCO)

▪️The World Customs Organization (WCO) is an intergovernmental organization headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. It is not under WTO. 
▪️It is the only international organization with competence in Customs matters and is considered as the voice of the international Customs community.
▪️WCO represents 182 Customs administrations across the globe that collectively process approximately 98% of world trade. India is a member country of WCO.
▪️The WCO maintains the international Harmonized System (HS) for goods nomenclature, and administers the technical aspects of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreements on Customs Valuation and Rules of Origin. 
▪️India became Vice-Chair or regional head of Asia Pacific Region of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) for two years from July 2018 to June 2020.
