● Location: It is situated in Uttar Pradesh forming part of the Terai Arc Landscape in the upper Gangetic Plain Biogeographic Province.
● The northern edge of the reserve lies along the Indo¬-Nepal border while the southern boundary is marked by the river Sharada and Khakra.
Why in News? Pilibhit Tiger Reserve(PTR) and the Uttar Pradesh Forest department have bagged the first-ever international award, TX2, for doubling the number of tigers in four years against a target of 10 years.

● Tx2 programme: It was launched by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) at the 2010 St Petersburg Tiger Summit.Under this, all 13 tiger range governments have committed to double the number of wild tigers by 2022.
