➡️Luddi dance is from Punjab. It is danced to celebrate a victory in any field. Usually performed by the males in the folk culture, the Luddi dance is performed as a celebratory dance that celebrates the victory of any Punjabi in any field. 

➡️Jhumar or Jhoomar (also called Ghumbar in Sandalbar area) is a folk dance performed during the harvest season in Punjab. It is slower and more rhythmic form of bhangara.

➡️The Sattriya dance form was introduced in the 15th century A.D by the Vaishnava saint and reformer of Assam, Sankaradeva as a medium for propagation of the Vaishnava faith.

➡️Raslila is a popular dance form originating in the Mathura and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh. The dance is based on the love stories of Radha and Krishna. 

➡️Bharatnatyam dance is known to be ekaharya, where one dancer takes on many roles in a single performance.

➡️The Abhinaya Darpana by Nandikesvara is one of the main sources of textual material, for the study of the technique and grammar of body movement in Bharatnatyam Dance.

➡️Lai Haraoba is the earliest form of dance which forms the basis of all stylised dances in Manipur. Literally meaning - the merrymaking of the gods, it is performed as a ceremonial offering of song and dance.

➡️Under the Mughal emperors and their nobles, Kathak was performed in the court, where it acquired its present features and developed into a form of dance with a distinctive style.
