Buddhist Vihara

✅The once famous Buddhist Vihara in Nagapattinam of Tamil Nadu is called Chudamani Vihara

✅This Vihara was constructed by Sri Vijayan King Sri Mara Vijayattunga Varman in 1006 CE with the help of Great King Raja Raja Cholan.

✅ About 350 Buddha Bronze idols were found in this place from 1856 which were of the period from 11th to 16th Century

✅Srivijaya was a Buddhist thalassocratic Indonesian empire based on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, which influenced much of Southeast Asia

✅However, during the reign of Rajendra Chola I the relations deteriorated

✅In 1025, Rajendra Chola I or Raja Ranganathan, the Chola king from Tamil Nadu in South India, launched naval raids on the city-state of Srivijaya in maritime Southeast Asia, and conquered Kadaram (modern Kedah) from Srivijaya and occupied it for some time.

✅Rajendra's overseas expedition against Srivijaya was a unique event in India's history and its otherwise peaceful relations with the states of Southeast Asia
