LOKTAK LAKE

• Situated in the state of Manipur, it is the largest fresh water lake in Northeast India. 

• It is also called the only Floating Island Lake in the world due to the floating Pbundis (floating islands) on it. 

• It was designated a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention in 1990.
