◇ The term Preamble refers to the Introduction or Preface to the constitution.
◇ America was the first country to adopt Preamble.
◇ Preamble of the Indian constitution based on Objective resolution, drafted and moved by Pandit Nehru, and adopted by Constituent Assembly.
◇ It has been amended by 42nd Constititional amendment act (1976), which added three new words :-
• Socialist
• Secular and
• Integrity.
