RULE – When verbs are placed after prepositions (other than ‘to’) , they should be in the gerund form (v1+ ing) except when they are used in infinitive form.

Note – The following phrases end in ‘to’ and are followed by ‘ing’  form of verb (gerund).

I am looking forward to meet her. ❌
I am looking forward to meeting her. ✔️

He is addicted to smoke. ❌
